Another beloved PlayStation exclusive is coming to Xbox | Gaming | Entertainment

Cyberpunk adventure game Stray looks like it could be the next game to make its way from PlayStation to Xbox. Currently available on PC and as a PlayStation console exclusive, the game sees players navigate a cyberpunk city as a stray cat. After launching for PS4, PS5 and PC just under a year ago, the highly-rated adventure game has now been rated for Xbox consoles by North American ratings board the ESRB. This would suggest that an Xbox release date is imminent.

With Stray making its debut in July 2022, it’s likely Sony had a 12 month console exclusivity deal with publisher Annapurna Interactive.

Sony struck similar timed exclusivity deals with games like Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo, which would both come to Xbox the following year.

It’s possible Microsoft could make an announcement during its upcoming Xbox Games Showcase event on June 11.

Xbox fans will also be hoping that Stray becomes the latest heavy-hitter to hit on Xbox Games Pass at launch.

Microsoft is likely planning some big Games Pass announcements during its Showcase event, so let’s hope the release of Stray is one of them.

Currently sitting pretty with a Metacritic score of 83%, Stray is a third-person adventure game in which a cat attempts to escape a cyberpunk city.

“Roam surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by curious droids and dangerous creatures,” reads the official description.

“See the world through the eyes of a cat and interact with the environment in playful ways. Be stealthy, nimble, silly, and sometimes as annoying as possible with the strange inhabitants of this mysterious world.

“Along the way, the cat befriends a small flying drone, known only as B-12. With the help of this newfound companion, the duo must find a way out.”
