A new Call of Duty Modern Warfare Playlist update is scheduled to arrive ahead of the big Season 3 launch in April. Plenty of hype surrounds the release of MW Season 3, which will bring new game modes and maps to Call of Duty on all platforms. There will also be changes for Warzone, Activision’s newly launched Battle Royale experience which is free to play.
According to the latest leaks, Quads is coming to Warzone and a few hints from developers Infinity Ward suggests this will be released soon.
It’s something that fans have been waiting for and will likely replace the current Solo playlist available in-game.
Modern Warfare Season 3 is scheduled to launch on April 8, but there is something else happening before that.
Tuesday, April 7 will see a new Playlist update arrive as part of a Call of Duty Modern Warfare update.
These are scheduled to launch every Tuesday and it appears the same will be happening this week, even with the impending Season 3 launch.
Commenting on their plans for this week, developers Infinity Ward confirmed that they would be launching new playlist changes.
This will include the return of Deathmatch Domination, although it’s unclear right now if anything will be added.
A message from Infinity Ward explains: “Thanks to your votes on Twitter this week, we’ll be turning on Deathmatch Domination in next week’s playlist update!
“With Season Three coming next week, we updated the in-game timer to give you a bit more time to complete those Missions, Challenges, and Tiers.
Adding: “We are working with Xbox to address the issue some Xbox One players have had accessing the UDT Classic Ghost Bundle
“We’re currently working on a solution for players who are not seeing the Free Tier skips appearing in their Just For You page.”
There’s a good chance Activision will wait until April 8 to launch the big Call of Duty Modern Warfare update, along with Season 3.
As confirmed by Infinity Ward earlier this year, a new Battle Pass will be part of the Season 3 launch.
That means gamers only have a short time to complete the one they currently have, with plenty of extra XP available to do.
And in a new bid to help with the process, Activision has made it possible to claim ten free tiers before the end of the current Battle Pass.
Battle Pass Owners will need to login before April 5 at 11PM PT and redeem the free tiers from the Warzone or Modern Warfare Store.
“For players who have reached any tier above tier 90, they will be gifted tiers to reach tier 100 and any remaining tiers will be allocated to next Season’s Battle Pass,” a message from Activision explains.
“if you are at tier 95, you will be gifted five tiers this Season and five tiers once you purchase next Season’s Battle Pass.
“Head in-game before April 5 to redeem this gift. Go to the ‘Just For You’ section in the Store tab from the Multiplayer, Co-Op, or Warzone lobby.
“There you will find the 10 tier gift, and you can redeem it to apply it to your account. You must redeem the 10 free tiers gift in-game during this event period to have the 10 free tiers applied to your account.
“These additional tiers will help you progress through all the tiers of the Battle Pass system before the season ends.”
As mentioned above, Activision is still working on a few bugs stopping players from accessing this new bonus and are also looking into other XP issues.
