The big Black Friday shopping bonanza doesn’t officially start until later this month but Currys has already begun slashing prices on a range of products. This big “Clearance” and “Kickstart Your Xmas” sale includes discounts on 4K TVs, tablets, smartphones and headphones. For example, you can currently get £200 off of Samsung’s popular televisions and there’s a saving of £50 on some Beats headphones.
Along with the drop in prices, there’s another reason why shopping this week is a good idea. Currys says that it is extending its opening hours to allow customers to head into stores before the lockdown kicks in on Thursday.
During the next few days, most stores will be open until 8pm and some larger Currys shops will be open as late as 10pm.
Customers can check the website for the latest details of their local store.
The retailer also says it has extensive precautions in place to ensure the safety of both colleagues and customers so that stores are a safe place to shop between now and Thursday.
If you don’t fancy a trip to your local store then you can opt to order online with your tech delivered straight to your front door. There’s also the option to take advantage of “Zero-Contact” Order & Collect where customers can park up and have their tech delivered straight to their car boot without the need to physically interact with the Currys PC World colleagues.
Speaking about the changes, Mark Allsop, Chief Operating Officer at Currys PC World, says, “Whilst we expect footfall to increase between now and Thursday, our extended opening hours will help ease the busy periods in store.
“From Thursday we will support our customer tech needs through 24/7 online, SHOPLIVE and “Zero Contact” Order & Collect. This, means we are able to welcome customers into our stores until the full nationwide lockdown begins and continue to support them through November.
“Access to home tech is absolutely vital – from white goods, kettles and toasters through to computing equipment. The first lockdown led to unprecedented demand for consumer electronics, including items such as home office equipment, enabling Brits to work effectively and comfortably from home. We are expecting similar demand this time round.”
Before you start ordering too many gadgets over the next few days it’s worth remembering that Black Friday begins on November 27 and expect some huge bargains.
