Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been dealt another release date blow by CD Projekt Red.
With Cyberpunk 2077 quickly becoming one of this generation’s most anticipated games, developer CD Projekt Red has been bombarded with questions about the game’s release date.
But CD Projekt Red has reiterated its release date message with a cheeky Twitter post.
Unfortunately, however, it’s bad news for fans, as CD Projekt continues to insist that Cyberpunk 2077 will be released only “when it’s ready”.
The tweet was in response to a Cyberpunk 2077 listing on Amazon.
The online retailer was advertising the game with a December 31 release date.
But as CD Projekt’s statement confirms, the listing is just a placeholder, and the release date hasn’t been revealed.
But despite the Cyberpunk 2077 release date blow, CD Projekt has made some interesting revelations about the game’s influences.
CD Projekt Red Quest Director Mateusz Tomaskiewicz told AreaJugones that Deus Ex is a big influence on Cyberpunk.
“This one had a great impact on me as a developer and player back when I played it for the first time many years ago,” he said of Deus Ex.
“And what I really liked about that game was completing the missions in many ways.
“It was not only based on dialogue decisions, since you also had the things that were on the map and its different points of entry that allowed you to get into buildings, as well as elements that opened different paths in history.”
But perhaps more shocking is Tomaskiewicz’ admission that Elder Scrolls and Vampire Bloodlines were also influential.
Perhaps we’ll see how influential the games are when Cyberpunk 2077 makes its appearance at the E3 Gaming Expo.
It’s also possible we’ll find out more about the rumours of Lady Gaga appearing in the game.
French website Actugaming recently claimed that Lady Gaga was spotted visiting CD Projekt Red.
According to a source close to the website, the Poker Face singer visited the studio to perform motion capture for the upcoming game.
