According to Destiny 2 community members tracking the current gaming trends, there’s been a massive uptick in failed Forges this weekend.

The majority of recent activities have been failed forges and it appears this is directly connected to the AFK Umbral Forge Farm exploit found this week.

This latest Destiny 2 bug allows Guardians to farm Umbral Engrams by being AFK in Forges, sometimes by lowering light level, other times disrupting the usual game loop of others.

The chatter from the D2 community suggests that many are using the exploit to boost their power level while avoiding activities they see as a grind they don’t have time for.

One user writes: “Really the only reason I plan on doing it later today is I didn’t really play the last two seasons and I’m just not in the mood to grind through that backlog.”

Another adds: “I didn’t play the last two seasons either, and playing for about 4-6 hours per day this weekend, completing the weeklies and all of the dailies I’ve gone from 960 to 1010, I actually feel like there’s less grind this time around.

“The power level of dropped items matches what you have in your inventory, not just what you have equipped. As long as you have your highest light items on you items drop at your highest possible light level (not counting seasonal item boost).”

The good news is that Bungie knows about the current exploit and are looking to change things up quickly.

The dev team continues to request feedback, with this latest exploit highlighting the current problems around Power Level.

A message from Bungie explains: “Watching the conversation on Power, Leveling, and a few pesky bugs that trivialize them both.

1. Be kind to one another.

2. The team is working to address the bugs. Stay tuned for info.

3. Keep the feedback coming. Direct the frustration towards us. Don’t tear eachother down.

The new exploit isn’t the only issues Bungie is dealing with this weekend across PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Having launched Trials of Osiris for this week, Bungie has had to cancel the event due to problems with visiting The Lighthouse.

It’s unclear at this time if the Trials will return before the Destiny 2 Weekly Reset, or if the event will be postponed further into June.

“We are investigating an issue where players are unable to visit the Lighthouse after completing a Flawless Trials Passage,” the Bungie support announcement reads.

“Trials of Osiris has been disabled for the remainder of the weekend, and will be unavailable until this issue can be resolved.”
