Facebook is down right now with hundreds of users reporting the social networking giant’s site as not working.

Down Detector has received a surge of Facebook down reports today which would mark the second time this week services have been affected.

Out of those affected 47 per cent are experiencing login issues while 37 per cent are facing a total Facebook blackout.

Down Detector is an independent outage monitor which detects when services go down by monitoring social mentions around specific topics.

As the issues hit Facebook users flocked to rival social network Twitter to report Facebook down.

One user tweeted: “#FacebookDown ….again.“

Another posted: “Soooo… is Facebook down right now?”

One added: “#FacebookDown is happening much more frequently these days.“

And one wrote: “#facebookdown is not working good .. what’s up?”

The Down Detector outage map says the Facebook users are mainly affecting users in the US.

Facebook users in parts of Europe as well as some in the UK have also reportedly been hit.

The Down Detector reports of Facebook down have so far peaked at more than 500 reported issues with the social networking giant’s site.

The news comes just days after another Facebook outage hit which affected thousands of users.
