It seems you can’t get through a week without a smartphone being launched.
We’ve already seen Google’s Pixel 3 and new budget Honor X unveiled this week and in just a few days Huawei will reveal its new Mate series.
But before that, Samsung is holding a major event where they are expected to reveal a radical new smartphone.
The grand unveiling takes place at 10am today with the firm teasing it will 4 times the fun.
Samsung says it “will unveil the latest in the Galaxy series – a device that offers even more ways to express yourself and capture the fun.”
That slogan appears to correspond to a recently leaked picture by Evan Blass which shows a phone touting four rear cameras.
This quadruple setup appears to allow for photos to be shot with depth of field along with a better 2X zoom and wide-angle lens.
Little else is know about this new device but Samsung will reveal all at its event in Malaysia.
It’s already been a busy few months for the Korean company with them launching their new Galaxy Note 9 along with a swathe of lower-priced devices including the J2 and new A7.
The smartphone market continues to get more and more competitive and there’s still more device to launch over the next few months.
Apple’s iPhone XR will hit stores on October 26 and OnePlus has just announced its new phone will arrive on October 30.
The OnePlus 6T could be one to watch out for as it looks set to feature a fingerprint scanner embedded under the screen.
This technology has, so far, been missing from all of this year’s flagships with most devices opting for a rear-mounted sensor or facial recognition.
So, it’s an exciting few weeks ahead for smartphone fans and we’ll be bringing you all the latest news from Samsung’s “4X fun” event live from 10am
