The Modern Warfare beta is entering its final phase on the PlayStation 4.
The Call of Duty Modern Warfare beta kicked off in early access on September 12, before becoming an open beta on September 14.
Call of Duty fans don’t have long left to enjoy this weekend’s beta, which has a September 16 end date.
Fans have until 6pm UK time on September 16 to download and play the beta before it goes offline.
On the plus side, Activision will hold another Call of Duty Modern Warfare beta next week, and this time everybody can play.
The second Modern Warfare beta has a September 19 release date for Xbox One and PC pre-order customers.
Xbox One and PC users who pre-order a physical copy from an online retailer like Amazon or GAME will be sent a digital code. This can be redeemed on the Call of Duty beta website.
“In most cases, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Early Access Beta code will be printed on the retail receipt or sent to you via email on an online receipt,” Activision confirms. “If you didn’t receive a Beta code or can’t locate it, please contact your retailer.”
As with this week’s PS4 beta, the closed beta lasts for a couple of days, before becoming an open beta.
This means that all Xbox One, PC and PS4 owners can jump in to the Modern Warfare beta whether they’ve pre-ordered the game or not.
The PS4, Xbox One and PC open beta takes place at 6pm UK time on September 21, before ending at the same time on September 23.
The Call of Duty Modern Warfare beta will contain various maps, playlists and surprises.
“Expect an epic and ever-changing series of Maps, Playlists, and other content drops throughout the Beta Test Weekends, with surprises and a great deal of content to access,” reads a beta post on the PlayStation Store.
Activision has already updated the PS4 beta, adding a higher level cap, new maps and a mini-map.
The mini-map had been replaced by a compass, although this didn’t go down well with fans. Activision explained more in a recent blog post.
“Along with your feedback and the data we’re continuously collecting, we’ll be experimenting internally with a few different options and will keep you updated if we make any changes that you might see during the Beta.
“This is an ongoing conversation with all of you, so again, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this topic and we’ll update you again when we have more information to share.
“As we mentioned yesterday, we are still experimenting with the minimap, so tomorrow, the minimap will be turned on but will not display enemy fire.”
Call of Duty Modern Warfare has an October 25 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
