NatWest online banking was hit by a major outage yesterday, Tuesday August 27, that left many unable to access its range of services.
And it seems today, Wednesday August 28, the bank is once again suffering from similar issues.
Independent outage monitor Downdetector has registered over 340 reports this morning from users at one time claiming the bank’s services were not working as normal.
The majority of these were said to concern NatWest online banking.
Just as they did yesterday, a number of customers have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment.
One tweeted: “This is the second day in a row that I’ve been unable to access your website.
“The first day I was like, ‘OK, these things happen…’.
“Now I’m getting annoyed. I’m trying to run a business.
“I can’t even go into my local branch because it’s closed down!”
A second declared: “Website is down – so can’t make international payments.
“Bankline app does not allow international payments.
“If I make the payments at a branch (1) will I be charged as if the payment was made online and (2) will NatWest compensate me for the time and cost of going to the branch?”
While the outage appears to be affecting NatWest’s website, that allows for exclusive features such as international payments, other users have reported the bank’s app is not working either.
Another customer stated: “Erm your app has gone down as well so how am I supposed to make a payment?”
NatWest has acknowledged its website is down.
In a statement, the bank explained: “Our website is still unavailable and we’re working hard to fix it.
“You can use Online Banking or our mobile app.
“Sorry if this is causing you problems – we’ll update you when we have more information.”
Express.co.uk will be updating this page with the latest server status for NatWest
