The news was announced by Nintendo, alongside a preview about what to expect.

“Tune in on Thursday, 14th September at 3pm UK time for a Nintendo Direct livestream featuring roughly 40 minutes of information focused on Nintendo Switch games releasing this winter.”

Judging by the official announcement, fans can expect updates and gameplay footage from the likes of Super Mario RPG remake, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and the next WarioWare game.

That’s on top of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, as well as the next wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC courses.

There’s also a slim chance we could get our first look at the Nintendo Switch 2 console.

According to recent leaks, Nintendo is reportedly planning to unveil a brand new game in the F-Zero series.

The F-Zero franchise has been dormant on consoles since the release of F-Zero GX on the Gamecube.

Insider Pyoro hinted at the return of F-Zero in a recent tweet: “Let’s just say fans of a certain MATLAB function will be happy with the upcoming Direct.”

Pyoro is believed to be referring to MATLAB’s fzero function in the tweet, which has fuelled speculation that the futuristic racer will return.

Pyoro also tweeted a GIF featuring Donkey Kong from the Super Mario Bros. Movie. Does this mean a new Donkey Kong game is in the works?

Other fans believe Nintendo could finally announce Switch versions of The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD.
