Nintendo Switch gamers could have seen major news leak ahead of one of the console’s biggest releases for this year.
The Nintendo Switch has an enviable selection of exclusive titles with this games list continuing to get better and better.
From Breath of the Wild, to Super Mario Odyssey, to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to Octopath Traveler – there are so many great exclusive Switch games out there.
And there are still plenty more upcoming exclusive titles to look forward to such as Animal Crossing Switch, Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3.
Arguably the biggest Nintendo Switch game coming out in 2019 is the recently revealed Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.
These two games are the latest mainline entries in the Pokemon series and will see the Gen 8 Pokemon appear.
Three starter Pokemon – Sobble, Gookey and Scorbunny – have been revealed with plenty more set to appear in the Galar region.
The area that Pokemon Sword and Shield is set in has clearly been inspired by the British countryside, giving it a quaint, homely feel to it.
Pokemon Sword and Shield is set for a late 2019 release date, and one big feature could have leaked early.
Ahead of the Pokemon Direct that revealed Sword and Shield Nintendo and Game Freak filed an interesting trademark.
The trademark was applied for on February 18 2019 but it has only recently been revealed in a post by Nintendo Everything.
And that trademark was for Armored Mewtwo.
The reason this is especially of interest to Switch fans is that it could hint at an upcoming feature of Pokemon Sword and Shield.
A now-deleted 4chan post claimed that armoured evolutions are coming to Pokemon Sword and Shield.
The reason this is of especial interest is the 4chan post correctly predicted a number of things ahead of the official Pokemon Switch unveiling.
The 4chan post accurately predicted the new Pokemon Switch game would be called Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.
It also correctly predicted that the setting for the new Nintendo Switch game would be a British countryside inspired area.
Whether Armored Mewtwo ends up appearing in Pokemon Sword and Shield remains to be seen.
It’s also possible that Armored Mewtwo could be a trademark relating to the upcoming Pokemon movie Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution.
