OnePlus fans have another big launch to look forward with the Chinese smartphone brand expected to reveal a powerful new device.

The major event is taking place tomorrow and will see OnePlus join forces with McLaren to release what is expected to be their most premium smartphone to date.

Although there’s no official news on what will be revealed, rumours are rife that a McLaren branded OnePlus 6T will be shown to the world.

This phone could arrive with a refreshed design which may include a McLaren logo on the rear case and a whopping 10GB of RAM.

Other details remain scarce but this new phone is also likely to include many of the features found on the current OnePlus 6T.

The firm’s flagship comes packed with a dual-lens rear camera, all-screen design and a fingerprint scanner which is now embedded under the screen.

Speaking ahead of the event OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said, “McLaren and OnePlus were born in a similar way – with a big dream to create something special. Starting from nothing, we challenged ourselves to never settle. Today we unveil a true testament to innovation, a salute to speed.”

And Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, added: “The OnePlus brand is synonymous with speed and power, two values that McLaren likewise strives to deliver with every car we build. Bringing together the inventive, pioneering spirit shared by both OnePlus and McLaren is a firm statement of intent to leverage our collective powers and break new ground for innovative ideas and technology.”

Express.co.uk is heading to tomorrow’s event and will bring you all the news from the OnePlus event live as it happens.

The news of this phone launch comes as OnePlus has also made another big announcement about its future plans.

The manufacturer has confirmed it’s working on a 5G device that will be one of the first to also feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 855 processor.

OnePlus is working with EE to bring this new technology to the UK next year.

The partnership between the firms was announced at last week’s Qualcomm Technology Summit with EE and OnePlus confirming that they are working on an R&D partnership to ensure the best possible 5G connected experience for customers.

Speaking about the news Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s Consumer division, said: “EE and OnePlus have a shared vision: to give our customers the best connected experience possible.

“We’re working together on cutting edge technology to deliver that, and we’re leading the world on the journey to 5G.

“Adding 5G to the UK’s number one 4G network will increase reliability, increase speeds, and keep our customers connected where they need it most. We have an ambition to connect our customers to 4G, 5G or Wi-Fi 100% of the time.”
