OnePlus 7 Pro has been one of the best Android flagships on the market since it was unwrapped back in May.
That is because the hardware boasts a cavalcade of flagship features and also makes a number of innovations in its own right.
OnePlus 7 Pro’s headline act is its display that is arguably the best on any smartphone right now.
The Chinese hardware comes with a colossal 6.67-inch display that boasts the resolution of 1440×3120 and a density of 516-pixels-per-inch.
It is the 7 Pro’s 90Hz refresh rate that makes it most notable however and results in an incredibly smooth experience when navigating across OnePlus’ OxygenOS software.
For reference, most smartphones have a refresh rate of 60Hz.
The OnePlus 7 Pro backs up its incredible screen with a capable triple camera system, hefty battery and some of the fastest performance around.
The plucky Shenzhen-based company regularly updates the hardware to bring new features and improvements.
OnePlus recently started rolling out OxygenOS 9.5.11 for the 7 Pro that contains the Android security patch for August, 2019.
This is notable because Google’s Pixel smartphone series has not yet been granted such an upgrade.
To be expected from the developer of the operating system, Google’s Pixel devices are usually first in line to be granted new security updates.
However, at the time of writing the firm has not started rolling out the August improvement to its products.
Not only does the release of the update represent a significant victory for the OnePlus 7 Pro, but it also betters the handset in a number of ways.
Although the Android August security patch has not yet been discussed by Google on its Android site, the new software is expected to introduce remedies for any known vulnerabilities.
OnePlus has also declared the update will optimise a number of features on the 7 Pro such as Adaptive Brightness.
A full changelog for OxygenOS 9.5.11 was posted by the firm on a forum, it read:
• Optimised Adaptive Brightness
• Optimised the sensitiveness of the screen touch while gaming
• Optimised the accidental touches with notification bar in calling
• Updated GMS to 2019.06
• Updated Android security patch to 2019.08
• General bug fixes and improvements
OnePlus has said the new update will have a “staged” rollout, meaning you should not worry if it not available for your 7 Pro yet.
