News regarding the 2019 Overwatch Halloween event is still thin on the ground and has yet to be given a release date.
Blizzard usually provides an update a few days before the event goes live but have yet to do so this year.
And the change in strategy has left fans wondering when the Overwatch Halloween event will be going live in October.
Like the Summer Games from 2019, the upcoming Halloween Terror could go live without much build-up or fanfare.
And if that happens with Halloween Terror 2019, we could see the event go live as early as Tuesday, October 8.
That would be the second Tuesday of the month and the preferred time for Blizzard to launch their spooky holiday celebrations.
However, there have also been suggestions and hints that Blizzard will delay this year’s event so that it falls in line with the game’s launch on Nintendo Switch. And that would mean a release on October 15.
Fans have been discussing the changes online, “I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out on the 15th to Aline with the switch release. After all, they did say they had stuff planned for that day besides the release,” one Overwatch fan shared.
Another adds: “There’s a Eurogamer interview with two of the game’s producers that heavily implies the Halloween event will start on the 15th – the same day the Switch port launches.”
Other fans have also pointed out that Blizzard would need to extend the event by a few days for it to be active on October 31.
So there’s plenty of speculation to suggest that Blizzard is doing things differently for the Halloween event this year.
Last year saw the Halloween Terror event return on October 9 and end on October 31 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
There is also speculation over what new maps will be getting the Halloween Terror make-over.
Recent reports suggest that JunkerTown will be one of the maps transformed for this year’s event.
Whatever is announced by Blizzard this month, we can expect to see new skins and cosmetics included.
And the return of these seasonal modes is also expected:
Team up with three other players and face off against a host of horrific enemies, including Junkenstein and his Monster; the mysterious Summoner; the Reaper; and the Witch of the Wilds. Now play as Brigitte and Tracer—this dynamic duo is ready and willing to face these fearsome foes!
Prepare for a real challenge in Junkenstein’s Revenge: Endless Night. How long can you survive as wave after wave of enemies and bosses assault the castle doors? Those who survive the longest will earn a coveted spot on the leaderboard.
Overwatch Halloween Terror 2019 will be a free update for all gamers on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
And there’s a good chance that Nintendo Switch gamers will be getting in on the action too along with everyone else.
Hopefully, Blizzard can offer an update this week confirming how long fans will have to wait for Overwatch Halloween 2019 to start.
