Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX’s March 6 release date is so close and yet so far.
With just a week to go before the launch of the next major Pokemon release for Nintendo Switch, fans can get a taste of the action early… and without paying a penny.
It’s all thanks to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX demo, which is available as a free download exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
It’s ideal for Pokemon fans that are sitting on the fence about buying the new Pokemon game.
If you’re unsure about whether or not Mystery Dungeon is for you, or you’re like us and simply can’t wait for the release date, then you can download the demo by visiting the Nintendo Switch website.
The demo features the first few levels from the upcoming release. Better yet, any progress will carry over to full game should you decide to pick it up.
“Now that you’ve tempted fate, why not take a personality test in the free demo to find out who you’ll really become? Your answers will determine which Pokemon you’ll be for your journey, but you can always choose one yourself if you’re not happy with the result.
“Try out the first few levels, and carry over your save data to the full version of the game!
“Download it right here on this page or from Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch – just sign in and press the “Download demo” button to get started.”
A remake of the Game Boy Advance and DS titles, Mystery Dungeon is a Pokemon role-playing game with roguelike elements.
Teams of Pokemon explore perilous dungeons that change every time you play.
“Wake up in a world of Pokemon, only to discover that you’ve become one yourself!” reads the official description.
“Experience living among and interacting with them in a bustling village, and solve the mystery of your strange predicament by befriending others and taking on a variety of missions to find, rescue or escort lost Pokemon inside perilous dungeons.
“You’ll battle against the foes lurking inside these labyrinths and discover many great treasures along the way.
“Be careful though – the dungeon’s layout changes every time you enter, and you’ll lose any money and items your team’s carrying if they faint while inside.”
The game assigns players a Pokemon based on answers provided in a personality quiz.
Similar to games like Monster Hunter, players spend time between missions in a village containing various shops and dojos.
You can power-up your attacks by combining moves, buy essential quest items and improve your skills before heading out to battle.
You can also stash money and items in the village bank, ensuring that you won’t lose it during important battles.
