Pokemon Go Trainer Battles rewards and new PvP attacks
Pokemon Go Trainer Battles are now live and provide that PvP experience that has been missing on Android and iOS for the past few years.
It’s the closest things we have gotten to the original franchise, although the new battle system is still only limited to PvP encounters.
Players aren’t able to battle random Pokemon in the wild and based on what Niantic has said, isn’t something that is currently in the works.
The good news is that these new Trainer Battles come with their own rewards, allowing players to earn some top items.
Pokemon Go PvP rewards are an essential part of the new experience and should provide plenty of incentive to replay it.
POKEMON GO TRAINER BATTLE REWARDS
From what has been confirmed by players and Niantic, the new Pokemon Go PvP rewards are pretty useful.
By participating you can grab some great items in the process, including extra Stardust and a chance at grabbing special evolution items.
This includes the new Sinnoh Stone, essential for unlocking certain Gen 4 type Pokemon.
The good news is that there isn’t a limit to how many times you can battle a friend in a day.
However, there are limits to how many rewards you can unlock.
Once a battle ends, you can request a rematch or send a Friend invite to your opponent, but you can only receive rewards for up to three battles per day.
As mentioned above, both players will earn rewards for participating in the battle, but only the winning Trainer will get to level up one of three medals: Great League Veteran, Ultra League Veteran, or Master League Veteran.
Players can also challenge one of the Team Leaders to unlock more rewards and practise for PvP.
Trainers can earn rewards from doing this once a day and can also level up their Ace Trainer medal.
POKEMON GO PVP NOT WORKING
Known bugs have been reported and experience by players trying to use Pokemon Go PvP.
Trainer Battles not working include a few different, some affecting connection before the battle takes place.
There are also known issues with Pokemon Go PvP not working when the battle starts.
New Attacks can be unlocked for a high price
Some Trainers have been left unable to participate while their chosen team gets pummeled.
There are no negative effects from withdrawing from a fight, but it does mean starting the Battle process all over again.
Other issues include starting battles with their Pokemon already damaged, as well as problems with lag when fighting.
Some Battle Requests are not turning up on other player screens, leaving some notifications by the wayside.
POKEMON GO NEW ATTACK
Pokemon can now learn a new attack which provides more options during a PvP Battle.
“Save your Candies (and Stardust)! With the launch of Trainer Battles, Trainers will be able to permanently unlock one additional Charged Attack move for each Pokémon,” Niantic confirms.
“With an additional Charged Attack, Trainers have the opportunity to think strategically when approaching each battle!
New bug are making some PvP Battles not work
“Use your extra move to surprise opponents or cover your weaknesses.”
This adds another level of strategy to the game and will likely prove popular with hardcore players.
However, while it is nice to have new options, they come at a cost.
As mentioned above, players will need to spend Candy and Stardust to unlock these new moves.
And the price appears to be very high, with Trainer confirming that they have spent a lot on these additions, sometimes by accident.
“I was just cleaning out my catches for the day when the update when live. Every Pokemon learn a new attack for 0 candy and 0 Stardust,” One user warns.
“I went through and grabbed that for a ton of them until it stopped working.
“When I restarted, it began to show that I had blown through over 1M dust and 400 Tyranitar candies to learn the new attack for a completely unstrategic set of Pokemon.”
Most players probably don’t have a lot of Candy and Stardust to throw around, but there’s a chance that the cost of this option will need to be dialled back at some point.
