Beats are back with some new wireless headphones that it says will offer fans improved sound and a much more comfortable fit.
The latest Powerbeats Pro in-ear music makers have just been revealed by the US firm and they look set to offer a range of upgrades including a smaller and lighter design, better sound and 9-hour battery life.
Beats says that it has completely re-engineered the Powerbeats Pro from the inside out with the earphones boasting an upgraded linear piston driver that leverages an efficient, pressurised airflow to create a powerful acoustic response in a small package.
This should mean users get incredibly low distortion and great dynamic range across the entire frequency curve.
Along with sounding better, they should also be much more comfortable to wear with Beats saying fit and stability is paramount to its Powerbeats Pro.
In fact, they actually 23 per cent smaller and 17 per cent lighter than its predecessor plus the lightweight design is also sweat and water-resistant.
Other features of the headphones include the ability to control volume and tracks from either of the two earbuds and there’s automatic play/pause when they are removed from your head.
When they run out of juice you can fast charge them, with 90 minutes playback available in just five minutes.
Powerbeats Pro are compatible with both iOS and Android devices and feature the new Apple H1 Chip which delivers a faster and more stable wireless connection to your devices and allows Apple users to get instant Siri access.
“Powerbeats Pro is a harmonious blend of premium sound, fit and functionality. Powerbeats are already the #1 fitness headphones in the world and they are now untethered, with all the benefits of the Apple H1 chip,” said Luke Wood, president of Beats. “No longer do you have to choose between performance and practicality—it delivers the best on both fronts.”
Powerbeats Pro will come in Black, Ivory, Moss and Navy for £219.95.
Beats has confirmed that availability will begin in May from apple.com and Apple Stores.
