New reports this week suggest that another large PS5 stock drop is coming, and it looks like things will be kicking off early.
Gamers had to wait a long time between restocks in April to have another chance at buying a PS5.
But the same isn’t happening during May, with multiple stock drops arriving each week until the end of the month.
From what has been shared so far, the next major PlayStation 5 restock in the UK will be kicking off very soon.
We also have some unofficial times that should help gamers prepare for the new PS5 stock drops from Amazon, Very and John Lewis.
The PS5 Stock Alert UK account on Twitter – proven to be a reliable source – has shared new information, revealing the earliest dates for when this new stock could become available.
This remains unconfirmed and means that there could be last-minute changes or delays to whatever the full schedule is.
Several UK retailers have been linked with possible PS5 stock drops on Monday, May 17, 2021.
These include Amazon, Very and John Lewis, all of which are expected to offer restocks this week.
That means there is a VERY slim chance that PlayStation 5 consoles could be available later today from 4am BST onward.
While an early stock drop today is possible, most stock trackers believe that Tuesday, May 18, will be the day that gamers get the best chance at purchasing a console.
Amazon UK is expected to release PlayStation 5 consoles on May 18, with around 10,000 consoles expected to be made available to purchase.
And based on what has been shared so far, there could be PS5 consoles available to buy until May 21.
Times and dates that have been shared so far include:
- Amazon PS5 stock dropping between May 17 and May 20 from 8am BST.
- Very PS5 stock dropping between May 17 and May 21 from 9am BST.
- John Lewis PS5 stock dropping between May 17 and May 21 from 4am BST.
A message from PS5 Instant on Twitter adds: “Very does have stock coming and I feel pretty confident about the date but we’ll see. He’s a good lad and does a good job, we’re all trying our best to get you guys stock.”
Smyths Toys is another retailer that is expected to offer more PlayStation 5 stock this week.
However, this isn’t expected to happen until closer to Friday, May 21, and could be joined by Tesco and BT.
Knowing that more PlayStation stock is coming is important, but console hunters should also know the best ways to get stock from each platform.
Here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out. Amazon UK will be one of the next stores to release PS5 stock, which is expected to happen around May 18.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. GAME recently restocked the PS5 and is now out of stock again.
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings. Argos is not expected to receive any more stock until later in May or early June.
