Red Dead Redemption 2 enjoyed one of the biggest opening weekend’s of all time, generating hundreds of millions of revenue in the space of just a few days.
But the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 is just the beginning for Rockstar, who plan to release the Red Dead 2 Online beta very soon.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 Online beta has been given a November release date on PS4 and Xbox One.
And if it follows the same pattern as GTA 5 Online, then we might have a good idea about when Red Dead 2 Online will launch.
Grand Theft Auto 5 Online released two weeks after the initial launch of GTA 5.
Giving fans enough time to finish the campaign and explore the side content, Rockstar could do the same thing with Red Dead Redemption 2.
This would give Red Dead 2 Online a November 9 release date on PS4 and Xbox One. Expect official confirmation in the coming weeks.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is described as an “evolution of the classic multiplayer experience in the original Red Dead Redemption”.
It’s said to blend narrative with competitive and co-op gameplay, so expect an experience similar to GTA Online.
Rockstar explains more: “Using the gameplay of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, Red Dead Online will be ready to be explored alone or with friends, and will also feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players.
“Red Dead Online is planned for launch in November 2018, initially as a public beta, with more news to come soon.”
Rockstar warns of teething problems during the initial beta, which is something it experienced with GTA 5.
“As with most online experiences of this size and scale, there will inevitably be some turbulence at launch,” the post continues.
“We look forward to working with our amazing and dedicated community to share ideas, help us fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative.”
Previous reports have suggested Red Dead 2 Online will have some sort of Battle Royale mode, although this is yet to be confirmed.
