Red Dead Redemption 2 has achieved the biggest opening weekend in the history of entertainment, raking in more than £553million in worldwide retail sales within days.
The prequel follows Arthur Morgan, an enforcer of the infamous Van der Linde gang that John Marston was tasked with wiping out in the 2010 original Red Dead Redemption.
Red Dead 2 offers an enormous open-world experience the encourages interaction with a cast of hundreds.
It is easy to get distracted from the non-linear storyline, and players will be happy to learn there is still a huge piece of the game to discover.
Any day now, players will be able to play with – and compete against – each other in Red Dead Online multiplayer.
Like the 2010 original and Rockstar’s comparable Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead 2 also boasts a comprehensive online multiplayer mode that’s expected to entertain for years to come.
GTA Online, for example has remained one of the most popular multiplayer games for years and has helped keep GTA V a permanent fixture in the sales charts since it debuted in 2013.
Fans can hope and expect similar from Read Dead Online.

When is Red Dead Redemption 2 online released?
Developer Rockstar has announced Red Dead online will begin with an online beta.
Anyone owning the game on PS4 and Xbox One will be able to play online without needing to buy an expansion pack.
It is however likely players will require either a Xbox Live Gold subscription or a PS Plus.
The Red Dead Redemption Online beta is scheduled to begin in November, although a specific release date has yet to be announced.
It is hoped what will be included in the RDR2 multiplayer mode will soon be revealed in the coming weeks.
GTA Online launched just a few weeks after the main game and it is hoped this sets a precedent for Red Dead Online.
If that is true players can expect a trailer imminently.
Fans will otherwise need to be more patient for more information on the new game mode.

Rockstar has teased fans with this statement about the multiplayer project: “Red Dead Online is an evolution of the classic multiplayer experience in the original Red Dead Redemption, blending narrative with competitive and cooperative gameplay in fun new ways.
“Using the gameplay of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, Red Dead Online will be ready to be explored alone or with friends, and will also feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players.
“Red Dead Online is planned for launch in November 2018, initially as a public beta, with more news to come soon. As with most online experiences of this size and scale, there will inevitably be some turbulence at launch.
“We look forward to working with our amazing and dedicated community to share ideas, help us fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative.”
