ROKiT unveiled its new ROKiT IO 3D and ROKiT IO Pro 3D handsets today at an event in Los Angeles that was attended by Express.co.uk.

Both devices are betting on their glasses-free 3D technology and range of life services in order to stand out from a swathe of other budget Android handsets.

The ROKiT IO 3D comes with a 5.45-inch display that has a 720p resolution, 16GB of memory and 2GB of RAM.

ROKiT has stated a quad-core 1.3GHz chipset is housed inside the hardware.

The handset also comes with a fingerprint sensor on its rear and a 2,500mAh battery.

The IO 3D comes equipped with a single camera sensor on its rear that is 8-megapixels.

Moreover, the phone also has a 2-megapixel front-facing lens.

The ROKiT IO Pro 3D is very similar to the standard IO 3D but has a number of features that make it more premium.

First and foremost, the product has a 5.99-inch panel that has a higher resolution of 1080p.

The device boasts the same glasses-free 3D technology, too.

Additionally, the processor inside is more powerful, coming in at 2GHz.

The chipset is accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of memory.

IO Pro 3D’s battery is also substantially larger than its budget brother, delivering a huge 3,850mAh cell.

The handset has a dual-camera system on its rear that is comprised of a 13-megapixel and a 2-megapixel lens.

An additional 8-megapixel sensor is also present on the front of the device.

Both the IO 3D and IO Pro 3D come running Android 8.1 Oreo and not Google’s latest and greatest 9 Pie software.

The ROKiT IO 3D and Pro 3D will be available from the firm’s phone website and Amazon from midnight tonight, March 20.

The IO 3D will cost £139.99 and the IO Pro 3D will come in at £249.99.

Each device will come with three months free of what the company is calling its ROK Life Services “ultimate” package.

This includes a number of benefits such as national vehicle breakdown and recovery.

The package also includes:

• Keycare insurance – up to £100

• Excess protect insurance – up to £100

• Personal Accident Insurance – up to £50,000 and includes funeral expenses up to £5,000 and assault cover up to £2,500

After the trial period is up the package will cost £11.99-per-month.

ROKiT is also launching in the US and is bundling a number of healthcare services into the plans that accompany its smartphones.

However, these are not coming to the UK.

Discussing the launch of ROKiT phones the co-founder of the firm, John Paul DeJoria, said: “We started ROKiT with a mission to provide people with well-being and security, and offer a realistic entry point to top notch technology.

“It has been incredible to see our vision realised as people react to the phones. Not only have they been blown away by the glasses-free 3D experience on the smartphones, but they can’t believe just how much they’re getting for such a reasonable price.

“It was important to us to be the first phone on the market with such an extensive life service and entertainment offering that everyone should have access to.”

Jonathan Kendrick, co-founder and chairman of ROKiT, added: “At ROKiT, we like to say we’re a people-first company, because John Paul and I firmly believe in building a brand that prioritises making a difference in the world over merely selling a product.

“Today marks a massive milestone as we connect people with what they need and what they love by officially selling our phones globally. We have lots more in store and are eager to continue this momentum from here.”
