Liverpool will hope to pile the pressure on Man City by beating Southampton and returning to the top of the Premier League this evening.

Live from St. Mary’s, Friday Night Football returns to Sky this evening, as Liverpool take on Southampton.

Liverpool would go two points clear of their title rivals if they beat a resurgent Southampton.

A draw or defeat won’t be enough to top the table, and would hand City a clear boost with a game in hand.

Virgil van Dijk is expected to face his former club, despite recently picking up an ankle injury.

Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could also feature for Liverpool, albeit likely from the bench.

Southampton loanee Danny Ings will be forced to sit the game out, as he can’t face his parent club.
