Full-fibre firm Gigaclear, which specialises in bringing next-generation internet speeds to homes in rural areas, has entered a “special partnership” with popular telly provider Sky to bring its exclusive channels to customers paying for its super-fast 300Mbps broadband package. This combines both your home internet and telly into a single monthly bill, but it also comes at a discounted price.

According to broadband-focused blog ISPreview, Gigaclear customers will be able to get their hands on Sky TV channels at a discount – saving around £26 a month, compared to buying it all separately. The Sky TV bundle includes access to 340 channels as well as a Netflix subscription.

Sky Q, the latest set-top box from the satellite telly company, includes a Netflix app. Searching for movies and series across within the Sky Q menu will surface results from both Sky channels, Sky Store and Netflix. The same is possible with Disney+, but Gigaclear customers will need to pay extra to add that to their subscription plan.

New broadband customers who want to upgrade their viewing – especially useful as millions of us spend more time at home ahead of the festive season – will pay a total of £59 a month for the 18-month minimum contract term. After the contract ends, if you don’t cancel, you’ll be charged £85 a month. As usual, there’s a £20 one-off setup fee for Sky TV.

As well as the Sky Q box, voice remote control, Netflix subscription, and satellite dish (unless you live in a block of flats with a communal dish), you’ll also be kitted out with Gigaclear’s speedy 300Mbps service. That includes unlimited downloads (so there’s no need to worry about any unexpectedly high bills when downloading boxsets in Ultra HD on Sky Q during lockdown) as well as a Smart Mesh WiFi kit to ensure there are no corners in your home without access to broadband.

For comparison, the average UK household broadband speed reported earlier this year was 64Mbps. So, 300Mbps should be more than enough to keep up with video calls, streaming series, downloading updates to your phone, backing up photos online, and playing online multiplayer games.

The deal price is only available for those who order between now and December 18, 2020. So if you want to get Sky TV and super-speedy fibre broadband for the next 18-months at that discounted price, you should add this bundle to your online shopping basket sooner rather than later.

Use the promo code TEAMTV during the checkout process. Both installations from Sky TV and Gigaclear will be planned separately, so you’ll need to make sure you’re around for both engineers to help with set-up. Although you’ll be able to pick a time and date that suits, the broadband will need to be installed first, since Sky Q relies on an internet connection to provide on-demand content, like Sky Boxsets and Netflix.

As it stands, Gigaclear is available in some 130,000 premises across England, although they’re eyeing up a pretty rapid expansive, with plans to reach 500,000 rural properties by 2023.
