Twitter is suffering from an outage this afternoon. That’s according to independent outage monitor Downdetector that has registered over 3,000 reports at once from users insisting the platform is not working normally. An outage map has shown the UK, US and Japan to have been primarily affected by the problem.

In response to the outage, a number of Twitter users have flocked to Downdetector’s comments section to express their disappointment.

One said: “Hmmm, Twitter over capacity – first time seeing this!”

Another wrote: “Twitter is down in Wales, it seems.”

One user said they were being issued an error message reading: “”Twitter is over capacity. Please try again later.” When attempting to use the service.

Although many are complaining of a Twitter outage, Express.co.uk has not detected any issues with it ourselves.

Twitter has not commented on this afternoon’s outage reports.

Of course, Express.co.uk will be updating this page to bring you the latest server status for Twitter.
