Xbox One owners are about to get the best new feature they didn’t know they wanted.

Microsoft is currently trialling a new Xbox One update, which will make various improvements to the dashboard and introduce a selection of new features.

Ahead of its full release, the update is being put through its paces by members of the Xbox Insiders Program.

And based on a new leak over on Reddit, the upcoming Xbox One update will add a brilliant new feature.

According to the post, fans will soon be able to take advantage of a “Surprise Me” option within the games menu.

Hitting the “Surprise Me” button will randomly choose a game for you to play from your library.

It’s a great idea for anybody who fancies a gaming session, but can’t make up their mind about what to play.

Of course, there’s nothing stopping you from selecting something completely different to play, but it’s a nice feature nonetheless.

There’s no word on an exact release date, so watch this space for more information.

It’s possible Microsoft will announce even more new Xbox features during this week’s X019 event in London.

The three day event starts on Thursday, November 14 and ends just a few days later on Saturday, November 16.

The first day features a special episode of Inside Xbox, which is where any new games (and perhaps even the Xbox 2) would be revealed.

“X019 is our global celebration of everything Xbox,” Microsoft reveals.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring X019 to London, United Kingdom from November 14-16 at the Copper Box Arena.

“It’s the biggest Xbox event we’ve ever hosted in the UK and we can’t wait to share it live with thousands of people from the incredible Xbox community there.”

Microsoft has confirmed plans to showcase a dozen Xbox Game Studios releases, including new reveals for PC.

The company will announce more new games for Xbox Game Pass, and will reveal new information about Project xCloud.
