Samsung’s stunning Odyssey Neo G9 monitor is available to pre-order – but there’s a catch | Gaming | Entertainment

Samsung has opened up pre-orders for its ultra-wide Odyssey Neo G9 57″ gaming monitor. Revealed in full during the company’s recent gamescom keynote, the Odyssey Neo G9 57″ is an ultra-wide gaming monitor with a Dual UHD display. Not only does it look the part, but the 240 Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time makes it perfect for competitive gamers. Unfortunately, while it’s an absolutely stunning monitor that has to be seen to be believed, there is a catch.

Available to pre-order from the Samsung website, the Odyssey Neo G9 57” is priced at an eye-watering £2,199.

The hefty price tag means it won’t be for everybody, although you do get a free Samsung Jetbot worth £399 as a special pre-order bonus.

Likewise, Samsung is offering customers the chance to save uo to £100 by trading in their old monitor, plus the ability to pay in instalments.

While it’s clearly an expensive option, it’s hard not to be impressed by the new Samsung monitor.

The 1000R curvature in the 57” screen is as wide as two 32-inch 4K monitors, providing extra immersion and more customisation options for your games.

In addition to greatly expanding your field of view – making game worlds bigger and wider than ever before – you can use the extra screen space to bolster your in-game HUD and on-screen information.

Your old Samsung TV is about to get a game-changing upgrade

With VESA-certified DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity, not to mention HDMI 2.1 and a USB hub, customers can use the Odyssey Neo G9 57” to display two different images.

You could game on one side of the screen, and have a YouTube walkthrough or streaming service on the other side. This removes the need for a second monitor.

Samsung explains more: “With such a wide, high-definition screen and new inputs, gamers can use the Odyssey Neo G9 57” in place of multiple monitors, keeping their desk clean from clutter, while creating a comfortable multitasking single-screen environment.

“Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture mode offer multiple inputs at one look, and the monitor use Auto Source Switch+ to instantly connect to new devices without flipping through input sources.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57” is available to pre-order now from the Samsung website. Monitors will begin to be shipped to customers from August 29.
